The History of Messiah Community Preschool
The Messiah Lutheran Church of Downingtown conceived the idea of implementing a children’s preschool within the church as a community outreach to further promote increased growth of their church families and friends. The community response to the preschool was well received and thus the Messiah Community Preschool was officially established in 1990. At that time, the preschool offered one program serving children 3 to 4 years of age. The staff was comprised of one teacher, one teacher assistant and one office manager. Over the past years Messiah Community Preschool programs and staff have greatly expanded to meet the ever growing early childhood educational interest from families throughout our community. Today our preschool staff is comprised of a director team of two, six teachers and six teacher assistants, and continues to provide a quality early childhood education serving children from 2 1/2 years to 5 years of age. Our preschool offers seven programs that are socially, developmentally and educationally age appropriate with a comprehensive curriculum. We are a non-denominational preschool that accepts children of all backgrounds. We proudly serve over 70 families from our community and look forward to continuing to serve children and their families for many years to come. Messiah Community Preschool is “A Great Place for Kids to Grow”! |
